Timeshare Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was promised a 7 day cruise to come listen to their sales pitch. After a month and calls and emails there has been no resolution. We bought a time share and due to broken promises and no response regarding this voucher that was promised we want to get rid of it.

A new twist on the Vacation Package scam

I received a call from Spinnaker Resorts saying that I had earned an $1800 travel credit by virtue of having stayed at one of the hotels they're affiliated with, or because I'm a former timeshare owner. They gave me the usual choice of Hilton Head, Branson, or Ormand Beach. I asked how much the package would cost me. It was like pulling teeth to get an actual number. He finally said that the value of the least expensive package was $2195, so that with my travel credit applied, it would be "only" $395, which of course I'd have to pay up front. I told him that I don't send money to people who cold-call me, and that I wasn't interested. I didn't bother to ask him if there would be a timeshare sales presentation, because I knew that there would be, whether or not he said yes.

Listen u people know what this is about. U really think ur getting a 2000 $$ vacation for 3_400$$$ without taking a tour.

This is how we get repeat b u I s.Ness. vacations don't cost 300.

A rigging room at a hotel cost that. It's a great package and a lot of people are grateful for the credits and love it.

Same exact spiel... but mine was 1800 credit for a 399$ package offer.

I enjoyed the guy and his effort to sell, so I stayed on the phone for almost an hour solid 45/min for sure. We bantered back and forth, in the end I feel it probably is not a scam. Just another phone campaign from companies. I've been forced to engage in the same tactics in past jobs.

which is why I feel it may be legit. I personally wont spend money on a cold call with a company Ive never heard/dealt with before. I just figure Ill waste thier time if they want to waste mine.

In the end the guy was still nice and let me speak when I wanted to. Dude should be a car salesman not a phone jockey.

This company is a rip-off

Was offered a "vacation package" for $189 non-refundable and required to listen to 90 minute presentation. On the day we were to leave to go to Branson for our "vacation" we had an unexpected financial crisis and was unable to go. I called to cancel and was told that the Cancellation Manager would contact me, they never did, and no one else contacted me either. I was not told on the phone that there was $150 cancellation fee! So they kept my $189 (that's life) and then took an additional $150! Don't use this company. Go online directly to Branson or any other site to book your vacation......you will get a better deal in the long run.

Was lied to about what they were going to do for me

i was lied into purchasing a week strictly for rental purposes.after taking my deposit of $1900.00 I never heard from anyone again.Tried calling a Mr.Peter Nodelman and a Mr. Omar Smith every day and no one would return my calls. When I finally spoke to Mr. Nodelman

He stated that he was going to speak to his boss about getting me the week to rent.Never heard from him again.Mr.Smith promised to repay me $298.00 that I had to pay to Timeshare Only top put one of my Marriott week up for sale.Never heard from him either.

I strongly advise anyone thinking of purchasing from these people to google them and read all of the complaints regarding people being lied to.By the time I contacted the company they told me it was too late to cancel contract.I have been at this since 9/24/2014

I wont give up.We are 80 and 74 years of age I feel that that is why they took advantage of us.BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS COMPANY>

BEWARE OF SPINNAKER RESORTS!! SALESMAN SCAM ALL LIES!!

We previously purchased a timeshare with Spinnaker only to find out everything the salesperson told us was a lie. We was very disappointed to find out that we didn't have what the Salesperson said we did.

We complained at the corporate office and a few months later got a call from Spinnaker asking us how we liked our timeshare. We let him know we was not happy and was very disgusted with all the lies just to get people to purchase. He told us that if we would make a trip back up there that we could talk to someone that would fix it for us. I was very sick at that time with Severe Adrenal Fatigue (this is caused from stress) and told the salesman.

He was well aware of my issue as I felt really bad that day. My issue and doctor visits have greatly increased since this incident of VERY UNPROFESSIONAL sales practices. I have found that they have a history of this. We told him the lies the previous sales rep told us and he said the company had come up with a Premier Program because of un satisfied owners to help the business situation.

The Premier Program was 28 days for the owner and if you didn't use all your days, if you would call at the beginning of the year to let them know how many days you wasn't going to use that they would sell the rooms for you and you would get $100 a night for those rooms. They even discounted the nights we wouldn't use that year off of our total. We also could stay at any of their other resorts if requested. We went to Welk Resorts to tour their resorts which are much nicer with a lot more activities.

They told us Spinnakers program didn't sound right. I called Matt to verify if everything he said was true. He assured me it was that Welk didn't know about their "Premier Program". Of course they didn't know anything about it because there is no such thing!

He gave us his personal cell # and guaranteed the the companies new policy was that they had to return calls within a certain time frame. That was a lie after the purchase! We upgraded for an additional $8000.00 ON TOP of the $5000.00 we previously paid for the timeshare. They started out at $13,000 and knocked off $100 for the nights we wouldn't be using which is why it was $8000.00.

When I called the next year to tell the the nights we wouldn't be using we found out that it was all a dishonest sales practice and a LIE to steal money from you! We spent $8000.00 more dollars for NOTHING!! We didn't even get an upgrade! We got nothing but wasted $8000.00 hard earned dollars worked out on the credit card.

Stay away from this company!!! I can't stress it enough!! SPINNAKER RESORTS is a SCAM!! I called to speak with a manager and let them know that I would be going to the BBB with this.

He let me know he dealers with the BBB all the time. I can understand why.

I feel that the people who have been scammed by these unethical practices should ban together to get something done! There has to be a law against such dishonest sales practices!

Using false Phone numbers for calls

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Spinaker Resorts has the worst ethics possible they routinely call using local phone 3 that are not in service. I have told many agents not to call remove me from their lists. Now i just tell them I know the game and they rudely hang up. Looking into reporting to the FCC. They are always wanting me to use an old credit for "free travel" and then they of course tell you there is only a small fee to make the account current and you can use the credit for wonderful travel and of course forever. I think as long as you fall for their make it current ploy. The real issue however is the use of inactive local phone numbers. Do not want to miss what might be a real call. How do they get these numbers and how to make it stop. They are not the only bad actor using this ploy!

Resort Presentation Review

Extremely unsatisfied with the Spinnaker experience. They are 100% totally full of Sh-----------t. Hotel was a joke, what hotel a single wide run down trailer in the country would have been a palace compared to what we had. The only good experience was at the mandatory sales pitch we told the guy that there was not a chance in *** that we would buy anything. Good ridance Spinnaker!!!

DO NOT BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE

Purchased tour package with understanding dates would be confirmed. Then told no dates could be confirmed; we asked for refund.

Taped phone conversation listened too and then were told dates, 9 Feb 2015 were confirmed. We agreed to keep package and written confirmation received. Weeks late we received refund to card account that had been changed and we did not catch it. No cancellation letter received.

Good thing I decided to reconfirm as we would have arrived in FL with no place to stay. Took hours to find out what had happened. Service rep. "Anita" was unpleasant and arrogant and made no attempt to accommodate us even though openings exist at the resort.

BUYER BEWARE... They will promise you the moon and deliver $%#@!

Sorry for you bad experience... Your DATES ARE GUARENTEED WITH A 45-60DAY NOTICE.

If your dates are booked within the 60 days YOU SHOULD HAVE NO ISSUES!! Please before you make any comments or concerns about the company speak with a MANGER OR SUPERVISOR that can help resolve your issues.

I do understand the frustration, but don't ruin it for people who haven't had the chance to HAVE A GREAT TIME WITH US!! NOTHING ABOUT SPINNAKER IS @#$% IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!!!

Lied, Cheated, Decieved

How this company still is in business with the numerous complaints launched against it, its not even accredited by the Better Business Bureau. These people are true *** of the earth, praying on middle class families, just wanting to get a taste of high class living. But you get nothing with these people. They stole $369 from me and gave me nothing in return. We could have stayed at a nice motel for 3 nights except we not nothing. They ruined my kids Christmas and new years vacation. Beware of telephone solicitors, if it looks like a fish and smells like a fish, it is.

Marketing Calls Review

Absolutely sick of their telemarketers calling our phone number 3-4 times a day. I have asked at least 6x to STOP and now it is blatant harassment! We have no intention of going to Spinnaker Resorts and plan to take legal action now!

Will not return calls

Decided against the purchase. Have called over a dozen times and no one will call back. Put a dispute on my credit card. The worst service ever. You get to CS only to be asked to leave a message. They never call back. Been going on for over 2 weeks. Plus after looking over the package online. (never did get the one in the mail they promised) They just dont have the locations we would go to. We are not in a major hub to travel to out of the way places. We have learned a good lesson here. The guy on the phone said we have been on the phone 1000 mins. So make a decision. I would have hung up but hubby didnt. That is rude.

Spinnaker Resorts Vacation Ownership Review

We bought a time share 6 years ago, when which we were told that they would buy it back. Now six years later, we've never been able to book a vacation with them, they dont answer their phones, and today a lady called and we complained about them not buying it back because they said they would and she said "it's not against the law to lie" basically admitting they lied.

Liars All -- Took my money, promised refund with 30 days

Spinnaker called me at a time I was going through the death of my mother. They told me I could CHOOSE where to go, but in the end they only offered Hilton Head. The main issue is that I was told I would have 30 days to review the offer, and if I did not agree to its terms, I could cancel and get a refund of my $208. Have called several times, explained that I did not want this package, but was told that Customer Service would call me back. Liars, Liars, Liars. Do not do business with these people!!!! Never again.

Cancellation by phone will not work. Get to writing and sending by certified mail.

Also, hopefully you used a credit card for the money. Contact the bank as well.

Nothing these snakes say verbally has any meaning, only written documentation.
